mid and body workout senior cardio

This 20-minute senior cardio mind and body workout will help you stay inspired by changing it up!

As we age, we look around and see many folks, ourselves included, who are going through challenges.

Being active is one thing we can take charge of that will help us meet these challenges.

As seniors we cannot afford to become complacent with exercising if we want a decent quality of life.

NUMBER ONE REASON in my book is to continue to live in my home and be independent as long as possible.

Read through the following list just to remind yourself of many other good reasons to get your weekly dose of exercise:

  1. It keeps our muscles strong so we are able to get up and down from our chairs, carry objects and stronger muscles helps protect our bones.
  1. With stronger bones we avoid fractures and slow down osteopenia and osteoporosis.
  1. Helps prevent falls by improving balance and reaction time.
  1. Cognitive health is less likely to decline because more blood circulation also means more blood to the brain.
  1. Exercising, especially accompanied with music, improves our mood and helps ward off depression. It also gives us more energy.
  1. It fights and delays the onset of chronic disease by improving our heart, lungs, blood sugar, and immune system.

But how do we stay inspired?

By doing something new!

Maybe print this list and put it on your fridge, invite a friend to join you, make it a daily habit like combing your hair or brushing your teeth, or even join a gym.

We will all have challenges.

If we are healthy we will be able to get through them so much easier than if we are in poor health, which could set us back big time if we can’t weather those challenges.

Also with good health we can enjoy family, friends, travel, hobbies, outings and sports even as seniors.

Stay inspired, exercise, and live a longer and healthier life.
