Why Do A Calorie Burning Cardio Workout?
Though exercise may be the last thing you feel like doing when you’re tired or sluggish, believe it or not, a brisk workout is one of the best things you can do as a quick pick-me-up.
According to research from the University of Georgia, a simple leisurely walk or modest intensity exercise can boost energy levels as much as 20%.
At 2:00 in the afternoon (my slump time), I’ll take it!
Movement increases the blood flow and oxygen through the body as well as increasing endorphins to the brain, helping give a little pep to the second part of your day.
It doesn’t even need to be as intense as this week’s high-energy cardio routine.
Just get moving by doing 5 to 7 minutes of this video, taking a bike ride, going for a leisurely walk or doing any other of my cardio workouts.
And because exercise can help improve sleep, being better rested will make getting through your day a bit easier, too.
Bottom line: try to move mid-afternoon rather than sitting so long at the computer or TV set.
